to ALL my Brothers in "LODGE OF THE ANCIENT LANDMARKS" #441 F&AM, our sister lodge QUEEN CITY-CHRISTOPHER G. FOX #358, NY state, in the WHOLE WORLD, & through out all of time since the lost and forgotten Genesis of our Nobel craft & Brotherhood, I want to extend my most sincere thanks from the deepest recesses of my heart, for discovering, preserving, & finally initiating me to the Ancient Mystery's of Freemasonry.
A mere Fellowcraft, I have fallen in love with the rituals I have been privy to. To those Brothers who took part in my initiation or were kind enough to be present at such, I want you to know how much I appreciate what you have done for me. I know that many of you invested a great deal of your own time and expense, and some of you even traveled a great distance crossing oceans before attending my initiations.
Thank you all! this has given me a great respect for the wisdom & transformative powers of the craft, the brotherly love of our brotherhood, and the truly world wide reach and bond of freemasonry.
With Love And Respect
Bro. Eric Louis Boczar F.C.

Greetings Brothers,
My name is Brother Charles L. Knighton II, hailing from Eliymelek Lodge # 606 in Florida. I am looking to you and anyone else who can assist me in my journey. I've been traveling now for about 3 years and have noticed a lot of different things. Understanding that there's no one man to speak for masonry, I look further than to my East for LIGHT. I am an African American Brother and I am associated with the International order of Freemasonry and I need to know the truth. I know you don't know me as a man, but can recognize me as a brother. I no longer want my eyes to be concealed by the rubbish of materiality. I'm really concereed about my affiliation. Not Freemasonry in itself, but International Masonry. We are not affiliated with the Prince Hall Orders of any kind. The only reason why I joined International Masonry is so I can be recognized as a REAL MASON. Did I join the right order? A white brother once told me that all black masons were clandestine and that white masons don't affiliate themselves with black masons, but I'm apart of an international order? I'm confused. What is really a clandestine mason? I was made in a just, regular, and perfect lodge, just like any other mason but does that really matter? I once read that a mason would be considered clandestine if they turn a good man away from the order because of his race, color, or creed. If that's so true, why am I forever turned back when I try to get into a white lodge? What about the iron curtains? What do they have to do with the Order? Please don't judge me by my skin color, look at me as a brother. Please don't turn me away. I need your help.
Sincerely with great respect,
Bro Charles L. Knighton II

Gentlemen:
I am desperately searching for information on my grandfather, John Fox born 5/17/1869. Do not even have his middle name. We are pretty sure he came from England but without more information can go no farther. John married Bertha Mache 10/15/1891 and they lived in Buffalo on Essex Street all of their lives. Five boys were born: John Charles 1892, Frederick Augustus 1893, Edward George 1895, Dewey ?, and Almon Kenneth 1909 (my father). I believe he is buried in Forest Lawn but cannot even confirm that. My mother who is 92 and still living in Tonawanda just can't remember to much at this point but did suggest that I try contacting the Masonic Lodges in Buffalo as he was "a Grand Master of something" - as she put it. I do remember him attending meetings and dinners but as a child at that time you just didn't question. Being 65 years old myself, I am the only grandson of John that now has sons and grandsons to trace the family line - and, of course, am now being asked the question "Papa, where did your papa come from?". I would love to be able to tell them what their greatpapa did and his positions and work in the Masonic Lodge as I believe his legacy could be part of their future some day. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Respectfully,
Gary J. Fox

I'm a Buffalo N.Y. past resident currently residing in Kansas. I'm a Senior DeMolay as well, having started my Masonic career as a DeMolay Boy at Unity Temple on Niagara St.in Buffalo. I visit Buffalo at frequently and would like to visit your Lodge or other lodges in the Buffalo area. I'm currently the Grand Senior Deacon in the Grand Lodge of A.F.& A.M.of Kansas. I would like your physical address as well as others in your area. I lived in the Riverside area most of my life and I would like to visit lodges in that area as well. Any addresses would be helpful as well as Brothers to contact during my next visit. Keep up the good work with your Web Page.

After many years of living and working abroad, both as performer (symphony orchestra conductor) and administrator, I moved to Buffalo 2 1/2 years ago.
I have always been interested in Freemasonry and have done quite a bit of research on my own. My thoughts are that a movement that has attracted so many brilliant people throughout the centuries, must have something very special to offer.
What's the next step? Can I meet with someone to discuss this?
Thank you very much for your attention.

My Brothers of Landmarks #441 ... hello from Texas! A special Hello to my DeMolay buddies: Tom Jordan, Bob Walker, Curt Montgomery, Paul Chisholm, Dave Schmauss (hope I'm not leaving anyone out).
It appears Amherst Chapter is no more (judging from the NY DeMolay webpage). Very sorry to see that. DeMolay was a large part of my life as a teenager, and Ancient Landmarks was a large part of DeMolay in Buffalo. It wasn't until I moved across the country that I learned a g-g-great-grandfather was an officer of #441.
I hope everyone is well there and I am glad to see the Lodge is thriving.

My Grandfather Elmer Kreller was a Mason. He passed away in September of 2000. He was a great man. I didn't know of the Masons until his furneral. I miss him very much, but I know he is with his father and that really comforts me. I asked my Grandmother Mildred Kreller if she knew what a Mason was. She had no idea. Why is it so secretive. I don't want to say secretive but my Grandfather never talked about it. I guess I'll never know but whatever it is I know it is good, because if it wasn't my Grandpa would never have been a part of it. It's just not in his nature. I love him dearly and I miss him. At least I know he's at peace.

What a great pleasure it is to visit the American sites. You are so open and refreshing in your approach to Freemasonry, which In my opinion is as it should be. Here in England we are treated with suspicion and accused of all manner of ills. I cannot but think that if we were to adopt you approach and bring our Freemasonry out of the dark ages, we would fare a good deal better. Congratulations on the quality of your site. Regretably, mine is but a poor creature by comparisson.

Well, we are looking to start a new one (or revive an old one) in the county once again, but we need your help and interest. We have a few girls who are members of Lockport Triangle, but traveling that far has become very difficult for them. This would be a great organization to get your daughters and granddaughters involved with. Please help us create a girls youth group in this area for them. I'm aged 73 and a long time ago went through the Chairs of Lodge St.Patrick 765 Irish, St.Patric R.A.Chapter 765 and Lodge St.Michael 2933 English. Now I've cut down to once a month and play the organ for a Scottish Lodge.
When time allows I shall be sending an interesting account to James Lagona of the persecution of Masonry by the Anglican Church world wide and especially in Singapore where even the sacrament of marriage is denied us unless we recant our vows.

I would like to say 'hey' to all my Brothers. I would also like to find out how to get back onto the Masonic Listserver that was available for a while. I had to logoff of it because of several changes and would love to get back onto it. Does anyone know whom I should contact?? Thanks.
I'd also like to pass on the Fraternal greetings of my Dad, Robert C. Hoover, Sr. who was Master of C. G. Fox Lodge back in 1956.
May the Great Architect bless y'all.

Tonawanda Lodge no. 247, of which I am a member, is not far from The Lodge of the Ancient Landmarks, but I wish you well in your venture. Those of us who have been in the lodge for many years have watched the membership drop and nothing we have done has changed the trend. Web sites are new, perhaps this new "trinket" will be an inspiration to anyone who is interested. Good luck.

As a Past Master, Past Secretary, and now Master Elect of Buffalo-Lakeland Lodge # 848 in Buffalo, NY, I note that these communication tools will become a strong part of our own Lodge's program over the next few years. One of our goals is to try and educate our members about the benefits of new technology available today. Just imagine the strength of using an E-mail mailing list to contact your Brothern with timely information. As technology changes, we will also have to stay current to realize it's advantages. I know in our own Lodge, many of the brothers are not computer literate. We will be making an attempt to improve this.
